USS Omaha

Welcome to USS Omaha NCC-68022

Pegasus Fleet

Excellence Requires Risk

USS Omaha is an Ambassador-class starship, just leaving the refit yards in 2394. At almost forty years old, she may not be quite as glamorous as the newest ships of the line like the Sovereign or Galaxy classes, but once you look past her quirks she's still built to venture past the frontier. The same goes for the crew: a mix of young guns, second chancers, and oddballs looking to prove that they've got what it takes to carry out Starfleet's mission of exploration and discovery.

Join us as we investigate ancient mysteries, delve into strange scientific phenomena, and occasionally get our shirts ripped.

» August Update

Posted on Sat Aug 8, 2020 @ 2:53am by Commander Jason Faulkner in General News

We had a really great month of posting in July! A total of 34 posts, which is a good post-per-member ratio, and they were very good ones too. As we move into August I'm going to start up a few more plotty ones, but please always feel free to elaborate with your own plot- or character-focused ideas. Don't hesitate to tag me by any of the accounts, including the generic NPC one. Here's a few things that will be happening and some prompts:

1) Shore leave! Technically y'all can beam down and visit the planet, since it's a Federation world. In fact, there will be official encouragement to do so in an upcoming post. You will find people very welcoming right up until they inexplicably are not. Hit me up for details.

2) You can also visit for official reasons, like studying local life forms, helping fix something with the power system, whatever you might think is cool.

2b) I think I'm sending our flight control dude (I am assured this is the offical term) and some techies to make a house call for a civilian ship.

3) There is still an ominous pyramid to investigate. I will be starting a JP where the Chamber of Secrets is opened. Basilisk may or may not be included.

4) Speaking of cranky, the ship will be acting up. More than usual, that is. Oddly enough, it is the newest stuff that is being troublesome. I'm sure this is not ominous.

I'm thinking that at our current rate, the part where things start exploding will come by the end of the month, and then maybe wrap up by the end of September. Thanks for all your work and let's make this another great month!

» Crew changes

Posted on Thu Jul 2, 2020 @ 8:14pm by Commander Jason Faulkner in General News

Hey everyone, a couple crew changes are happening:

First, welcome to our new flight control officer, Jayden Bren, and our counselor, Gairon Jaggar! We will be slotting them into posts as soon as we can.

Second, our CMO, Dr. Zephaniah, has resigned from the simm due to other committments. Among other things, they're now our newly promoted TFCO, Captain Stillwater over on the Standing Bear. So while I'm sad to see him go, congratulations!

» June Wrap-Up

Posted on Tue Jun 30, 2020 @ 3:09am by Commander Jason Faulkner in General News

Hey everyone,

We're at the end of June. If you have any posts you can wrap up, that'd be great so I can have big numbers. If not, that's fine too. But speaking of posts, if you think there's one that's good for POTM, let me know. The folks in charge have also asked me to boost the Fleet's Facebook page, where the nominated posts are being promoted, including ours!

Finally, thanks for bearing with me on some of the recent posts. I know the pacing has been a little shaky, I'm still getting used to trying to run the plotty stuff as well as the purely character moments. I'm going to try to speed things up by starting several posts with people that will move us into the next stage of the story, where things get a little... livelier. Hope you like brawling! Also, possibly ancient traps in pyramids.

» Crew Departure : Counselor Vodaan

Posted on Sat May 30, 2020 @ 2:16pm by Commander Jason Faulkner in General News

All, I'm sad to announce that Counselor Vodaan has left the sim due to real life committments. I wish him and his own simm, the Vesta, well.

Also, we're at the end of another month. If you want to recommend any posts for POTM, let me know.

"So first off, I'm glad I'm not Lt. Cooper," Theo said as he returned to his superiors, loping down the grassy 'hill' like a two-legged puppy, "and second, there's a bunch of equipment and people over on the other side, shouldn't we have noticed that earlier?"

"On the planet for…

Jason had only been back aboard the ship for a half hour before his communicator chirped and the lilting voice of his yeoman came through.

"Captain, I have the archaeology team leader on comms for you."

"Thank you, Gelph, put her on," he replied, tapping his desk console and flicking…

Jayden entered sickbay with his left arm hanging down by his side, the sleeve torn and his skin red and blistering.  The shuttle impulse thruster he had been helping replace had decided to ignite while he was securing it in place, catching his arm in process.  "A little help here…

Briar looked around as soon as they materilaized, taking in his surroundings. Nothing popped out at him as an immideate threat and he let his guard relax some. Though he tended to agree with Commander Faulkner, he still couldn't completely discount the fact of the Romulans sending someone to check…

ON:

Jayden climbed out of the Argo-class runabout and heaved a sigh of relief.  It had been over a week trapped in the vessel alone at warp three.  Sure, command could have put him on a transport that would have had him at the Omaha five days ago, but that…
